Hi there and happy Monday! With all of the chaos and sadness in the surrounding us today, it’s easy to be concerned for the type of world our children are growing up in.
When I find myself feeling that way, I like to remember that we can choose to worry or we can choose to believe that there is good in this world and more importantly, to be the good ourselves.
This holiday season has been the most exciting one yet for our little family. RJ is old enough to really get the whole Christmas thing and it makes for a lot of fun.
He’s also at an age where he can’t really understand how fortunate he is and what a scary place this world can be.
As a parent, it’s challenging to try to preserve some of that innocence, yet try to raise a child who appreciates all that he has rather than longing for more. It’s a daily struggle, but I know we will get there.
I’ve been fortunate to spend a good portion of my adult years surrounded by people doing good. From working in the hospital with so many amazing doctors, nurses and other medical professionals to volunteering up at Double H Ranch, I have many reminders to look back on and see how many people are out there doing good for others.
